My wife and I happened upon Margaret Garemore at an open house in Monrovia when we were thinking about selling our place. The way she presented the property and her overall demeanor and knowledge of the property she represented impressed us so much, we chose her when we decided to sell our home in Monrovia and buy a new place.
Margaret took the time to listen to what made our home special to us and had a very good grasp on the market as far as what people were looking for and how to price our place for a sale we’d be satisfied with. Now I must point that it was 2009 and the market had just tanked so we needed to set our expectations for current conditions and understand who our buyers might be. Margaret educated us and made us feel as comfortable and in control as we could hope. She ended up finding us a buyer who was retiring and moving from Arcadia and looking for a house just like ours! We sold for a good price (for the market) and the entire sale went smoothly!
We also chose Margaret to help us buy another, smaller home in Glendora. We had found a 1906 Victorian style bungalow that fit our needs and delighted us in its charms and personalization options. The sellers were not easy to deal with but Margaret shined though with her highly professional and effective negotiation skills and got us in for a price that worked for us. We lived there happily for over 5 years. We always enjoyed getting postcards from Margaret about the other properties she’s been able to help with. Her marketing skills are wonderful!
Our jobs have taken us to the Newport Beach area and the commute was just too much so we needed to part ways with our wonderful little house and we knew Margaret would represent us well. She did NOT disappoint! Being somewhat savvy, we did interview other realtors from Glendora but still chose Margaret because the relationship and trust she built with us was a great comfort and we knew we were going to be represented well.
I’ll say! She had two buyers for us before we could even have an open house! Our eventual buyer was a veteran and this was going to be his family’s first home. I’m writing this letter of recommendation due to the wonderful experience we had working with Margaret Garemore when we recently bought a home.
To provide some perspective about us, the buyers, I had purchased a home before, worked with an agent and we had met many other agents in the course of this search. But once we met Margaret we knew we wanted to work only with her. Instantly we felt comfortable that she would learn what we wanted and run with it. We trusted her to help us accomplish our goal.
Over the course of many months and through a troubled and difficult housing market we visited many homes. During this time she learned our likes, dislikes and really dug into the meat as to why certain items were a must and others were preferences. Working within the framework of this knowledge she presented choices and provided her reasoning. She never sugar-coated the bad, she never oversold the good. She was flexible to our schedule (we had just had a baby and this was a very hectic time for us) and we always felt she was available in person, by phone, at her office or at the house we wanted to see.
Her understanding of what we wanted coupled with her detailed knowledge and incredible wealth of experience guided our search. It was a true partnership. Throughout the search, the decision, the offer, and ensuing process she was clear, present, and resourceful which made the final transaction much easier.
Finding the home was one thing, Reviewing and determining what changes we wanted to make was another and again, Margaret again came through with recommendations and contractors we should consider and frankly as we learned with all of her recommendations, they were exactly right for our needs. Good contractors can be hard to find and her standard for quality is clear. This was a huge time saver and the outcome was perfect.
As I suspect all new homeowners do, I still keep track of the inventory and sales in our neighborhood. This is part curiosity and part validation of whether or not we made the right choice. Now, after six months in our home we are more certain than ever this was the right decision. We owe that to Margaret.

We met them when they showed our home while it was listed with another agency. When that listing expired without success, they requested the opportunity to present their qualifications to sell our unique home. Their qualifications and enthusiasm were evident but we questioned whether or not they would give as much effort toward the marketing and sale of the home as they were giving to obtain toe listing. We demanded a marketing plan with a time line, both of which you produced for me. We interviewed competing agencies and even other agents within your firm.
We awarded the listing to them and we were not disappointed. They listened to our needs and worked through our particular situation. They correctly identified the proper pricing and marketing strategy. Best of all they faithfully followed the marketing strategy and time line they had proposed. The result was that through their efforts a buyer was identified and they guided us through the offer and acceptance. Their hard work did not stop there. They represented us well through the escrow instructions, getting buyer contingencies removed, inspection, walk through and close of escrow.
Obviously it is easy to be complimentary of success but we want everyone to know, that even if the house hadn’t sold we would be writing this letter anyways, because they did exactly what they promised that they would do and made the process easy for us.
